In celebration of the Philippine Independence Day, Café Marco at Marco Polo Davao salutes Filipino Culture & Cuisine with a weeklong fiesta.

The food promotion that features Pinoy favorites from ensalada to panghimagas, kicked off on June 12 and will run until the 17th.

“Celebrating our country’s national day or Araw ng Kalayaan is very timely and important in our times today. Food is a representation of our freedom and culture as Filipino from where you can taste the influence of Spanish, American, Japanese and Southeast Asian countries. Filipino not becoming globally recognized to be truly appetizing and sumptuous,” says General Manager Dottie Wurgler-Cronin.

Guests can feast on all-time Pinoy favorites like Kare-kare, Kaldereta, Mechado, Sinigang, Afriatada, Pinakbet, Adobo and sizzling Sisig atbp.

As an added treat during opening day dinner gathering, Chel Yabut, MPD Restaurants, Bars and Events Manager, donned the chef’s hat while Executive Chef Alex Destriza took the role of assistant in a cooking demo. Apparently, Chel is also a food historian, blogger, recipe and culinary director.

The Southern Luzon recipe Chel presented, the Tagalog Ensaladang Talong and Pansit Pusit ni Asiong, will be served in the buffet.
