For some, the craving for this cuisine may have started when they caught sight of the shot I posted on my Facebook page on the evening of May 25th, the launching of the weeklong festivity. The amateur shot of the Ebi Tempura didn’t do the dish justice for it didn’t reveal its true size.

The Ebi Tempura shot posted on Facebook that got many craving for Japanese food

Though I captioned it with “The Japanese Food Fest at SEDA HOTEL starts today until Friday. But THIS Tempura , prawns & not shrimps, is what you should go for this Friday when they serve the buffet’, it drew a comment that I must have meant “baby prawns”, to which I replied with, “Nope, PRAWNS!” Well, there are those, too, who are quick to inquire about details without bothering to read the caption which clearly states the answers to question.

This might give you an idea how big the tempura is. Compare it tot the size of the lapu-lapu on the right.

Sad to say, this is not a regular thing for MISTO. This event is part of the urban lifestyle hotel chain’s Seda Chef Exchange Program which enables the Head Chef of each Seda Hotel to visit another of its own and share their expertise in the food industry. After sending Seda Abreeza’s Chef Giovanna “Bang” Flores to Seda Nuvali for a Kadayawan Food Fest, serving Mindanawon and Davao fare, it’s Seda Nuvali’s Executive Sous Chef Danny Gallardo turn to share his Japanese cuisine expertise to Davaoenos.

Tonight, Chef Danny will let the city’s Japanese food lovers indulge in a Japanese Dinner Buffet at Php 980 nett for adults and Php 680 nett for kids. The buffet showcases Japanese favorites from appetizers down to desserts.
