Art + Home

AFTER a series of nurturing sessions of TRUST Home Depot’s Kids @ Art Summer Art Workshop with Artist Mary Anne Guinoo, the masterpieces of the young artists were presented to their family and guests.

It was a trend-setting exhibition executed by TRUST Home Depot wherein the participants’ artworks in various mediums – craypas, acrylic and oil paints, were presented as it can be displayed in the homes of the artists.

Warhol-ic wall

Straying from the traditional presentation of paintings on easels and walls, TRUST Home Depot set up the exhibition area with chic and upscale furniture from NEST, the depot’s home furnishing section.

Art at home

“The stylish home accessories selected by our guest interior designer to compliment the exhibited pieces are in subdued tones – dark wood, matte gold, stainless steel, white and beige. The clean lines and basic colors of the furniture only highlights the main attraction – the children’s artworks. The beautiful paintings will provide the burst of colors the “home setting” showcase will need,” said Stephanie Ong, TRUST Home Depot’s Marketing Manager.

Art imitates life

She added, “We are sharing our interior design ideas to the parents and guests of these young artists on how to effectively display these works of art in their own homes.”

Guests of honor of the affair were artist and painter Brenda Barba, workshop director Mary Anne Guinoo’s mentor, and Interior Designer Ayen Ynfante, who designed the “art at home” exhibition area.

“This is just one of the exciting projects TRUST Home Depot has lined up for the year. TRUST is very lucky to work with very talented Dabawenyos like artist Mary Anne Guinoo. We’re looking forward to the depot’s next endeavor, this time with another artist known for her culinary skills, Pastry Chef Booboo Maramba. This June, our guest chef will share her cooking skills to all the moms-on-the-go. For this project, Home & Design (a soon-to-open Kitchen and Accessories showroom at Trust Home Depot) will create a working kitchen showcase in the activity area of TRUST Home Depot. We would like to invite all moms to join the free cooking lessons,” announced Ms. Ong.
